WORK ON THE MAKING OF SOMETHING WITH THE FOLLOWING GUIDANCE & IF WISH BOOK HERE FOR 1:1 ASSISTANCE.

Let me introduce you to Pinching

an exercise to gain an understanding of the material itself, to find its possibilities and its limitations. Start playing with it and see where it takes you, let yourself be guided by the clay and your inner wisdom.

take at least 3 deep breaths

cut

about 50-100gr (an amount that feels comfortable to grab with your hands

kneading

(like baking bread
or pizza !)

fold the clay over itself, press it down, and rotate. Repeat this motion steadily. The aim is to create a smooth, even texture and remove trapped air

bring homogeneity into rolling a ball

hold the ball with one palm and with the other hand- thumb goes inside through the middle (as making a hole but leaving about 1cm at the bottom) and start to accompany the clay from to the top - mapping: to get in touch with inner sensory-

walk with your fingertip the clay from the depths of the bottom to the light top. Follow your hand. And repeat.

keep the same thickness in all walls of your piece.

AS YOU MOVE WITH THE CLAY, WILL START CRACKING OPEN. MAKE WET YOUR FINGERTIPS AND CLOSE THE SCARS AS IF YOU ARE MASSAGING. IN NEED OF STRONGER PRESSURE INTRODUCE SOME OF THE TOOLS.

arrive with the inhale, pause with presence, exhale as letting go, an alive rhythm

Feel free to ask your own wonders and questions
(promps for free journal)

With Care Curiosity and Grace - as if digging unseen places within depths and welcome them to a brighter spot

You are on your own now. The work is up to you. It might feel scary, maybe replace it with intimacy. welcome inner guidance. the guru appears when the student is ready, so we are just getting ready.

It might feel very messy or wobbly, hard when starting- even frustrating, to keep steadiness and balance

Be anchored to:

  1. Your intention, Sankalpa

  2. Stability & coordination (you must center yourself before you center the clay)

  3. Precision (rather than perfection)  observe and decide the direction of the movement and while moving with is, wider, higher… remember order and stability emerge out of caos.

Observe the piece as a whole for balance.

Move slowly, listen, and focus on the sensing rather than the outcome. Bring things to the table;

Free journal through while making.

Let your fingertips and the clay have a conversation - observe how touch respond, be tender and let insight guide. Do not overthink.

WHEN YOU WANNA STOP MAKING, AND, CONTINUE ANOTHER TIME, WRAP THE PIECE WITH PLASTIC

ONCE DRIES A BIT CAN TO WORK ON MORE DETAILS.

When something uncomfortable or in need to release - you might CUT or change direction of the movement your are directing the clay

When something needs to open up, asking for space- you might add or straighten/ widhten the piece

When something wants comfort make a round shape - you might find a Hug for your hands
